About the Team:
QuickCount UK was founded by four PhD students at Imperial College London. Fuelled by their passion to tackle the biggest threats to global health and development, the team members conduct multidisciplinary postgraduate research at the interface between Chemistry and Biology. This inspired them to expand their aspirations to produce life-changing research beyond the lab bench and establish QuickCount: point-of-care diagnostics to eradicate antibiotic misuse.
The amalgamation of individual research experiences in academia with over 3 years of industry-based work in a microfluidics start-up gives the team a comprehensive view of development areas within this field. This has enabled them to design a novel test kit able to collect, separate and analyse a fluid sample in under 5 minutes for under £5.
