Herman is a professor of Medical Microbiology at the University of Antwerp in Belgium and the director of the Laboratory of Clinical Biology of the University Hospital Antwerp. Herman Goossens received several honours and awards, including the American APUA (Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics) award in 2006. Herman has published more than 450 full papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
